True awards season beauty stans will vividly remember the moment at the 2018 Oscars when Beyoncé walked down the red carpet in a never-before-seen eye shadow. In a perfectly executed feat of public relations, Glossier Lid Star Eye Shadow was thus introduced to the world. As of Sunday nght’s Golden Globes, Rami Malek is lucky enough to have something in common with Beyoncé.
Malek, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, used his moment in the sun to do more than bring home a trophy. He also brought us a new beauty product. It turns out that Malek’s kissable (did I say that?) lips were courtesy of Kosas Kosasport Lip Fuel, a lip balm that won’t hit shelves until February.
And that dewy skin? All thanks to Kosas Tinted Face Oil, a hydrating, medium-coverage foundation that at least one Allure editor is wearing at this very moment. (For the curious, makeup artist Marissa Machado used light-medium to medium shades 4 and 5 on Malek.)
“Rami’s look tonight emulated Classic Hollywood,” Machado said in a statement. “I went with modern leading man hair and warm sun kissed skin.”
While beauty editor inboxes flood with style tip sheets and hair and makeup breakdowns post-awards shows, it’s still rare for a male celeb to share the “get the look” details we’re accustomed to receiving from their better halves. Last year, for one, Daniel Kaluuya attended the Oscars in a face of Fenty. But the beauty breakdowns are still rare enough to stand out in a stacked inbox, and we want to see more of them in 2019. Kudos to Malek for bringing the beauty heat — which, incidentally, as just as Freddie Mercury would have wanted it.
